Makana, featured on PAYING IT FORWARD and MENTORING, is an internationally acclaimed guitarist, singer, and composer who is widely known for lending his musical talent for social change. His guitar playing has been featured on three Grammy-nominated albums, including the soundtrack of the Academy-Award winning film “The Descendants”.
Tiokasin Ghosthorse, featured along with Alex Alexander on LANGUAGE OF MOTHER EARTH, is a seventh-generation master musician and maker of the ancient red cedar Lakota flute. He has been the host of First Voices Indigenous Radio for the last twenty-one years. He hopes that his music can reintroduce what Indigenous peoples know to be true; of spirit, coexistence, and responsibility to all that exists in the universe.
